Libya, or Iraq, or Bahrain, or Syria, or Afghanistan, or Pakistan: various tribes fighting various civil wars, none of which have anything to do with US national security, yet we’re involved in 3 of these conflicts militarily, while our hypocrisy on oil, Islam, democracy, etc. extends to all 7!
Not to mention number 8: Yemen!

Unemployed Americans: 25 million
Rather than waste more time on deficit reduction, which is absolutely the last thing this economy needs, the President needs to announce a major jobs program to hire at least 10 million Americans over the next 12-18 months.
Whether it can pass the Congress is not important, what matters is that someone in power finally recognize reality: economic growth and private sector demand are woefully insufficient to create more jobs and American workers are facing a decade or more of absolutely grim economic and social conditions.
Want to pay for the program? Easy, announce the end of our pointless wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Libya. Allow all the Bush era tax cuts to expire.
