On Hillary Clinton

Monday, December 31st, 2012

Her political career is and was over in 2008, regardless of recent medical circumstances…

So, we should hope as human beings that she makes a full recovery, and that she and Bill enjoy the rest of their separate lives among the rich and tiresome.

Why I Stopped And Why I Started

Saturday, December 29th, 2012

Gorilla stopped blogging on the night before Election Day 2012.

He was mostly fed up with everything.

A country in which grinding, desperate long-term unemployment had become acceptable.

A city called Washington in which one political party had become completely demented and the other political party had mostly turned its back on whatever it used to stand for.

A world in which being mired in the backwardness of religion was again an excuse for the refusal to face reality, let alone do anything about it.

And his own personal failings: too great a reliance on alcohol and too little a desire to engage in making a difference, however small.

But today, he decided to resume blogging.

No one reads his words, but that’s ok, because the production of words is what matters.

Gorilla has become a grandfather, and he thinks there are things to be said to the next generation.

So, yes, it’s an egotistical exercise, and its form and substance may change as time goes by, and it’s necessary.

Gorilla says: “Ready to begin, ready to end!”
