Here in Virginia, Gorilla’s erstwhile home, our clown Governor and his despicable clown Attorney General are about to execute someone by using a drug designed to treat epilepsy.

And Pharma, Big and small, local and international, are finally understanding that being complicit in murder isn’t terribly good for either their bottom line or their public image. So they’re all trying hard around the globe to stop the use of drugs in state-sponsored killing.

Lethal injection is no more humane than the gas chamber, or the firing squad, or the noose, but it eases the consciences of amoral thugs like McDonnell and Cuccinelli.

Capital punishment is barbaric, and the US is the only supposedly non-barbaric nation that still engages in state sponsored murder.

It’s absolutely no different than Assad or Gaddafi launching airstrikes against their own people.

Nobody’s defending the man being killed tonight.

He committed a heinous crime for which he deserves life imprisonment, assuming of course (as we cannot in dozens of other capital cases) that the evidence against him is clear and untainted.

Alas, capital punishment will continue in the US so long as we elect cowardly, amoral politicians.
