It’s Not A Tea Party, It’s Extremism, Pure And Simple

Monday, April 19th, 2010

What’s always missing in the breathless coverage of more gun nuts descending on Washington is a description of who they are: the violent, racist, misogynistic and extreme right wing.

When was the last time someone was murdered by a radical leftist in this country? Meanwhile, the toll from the radical right is measured in the hundreds, including those killed 15 years ago today in Oklahoma City by a right-wing terrorist.

There hasn’t been a violent and extreme left wing in the US for nearly 40 years, but the extreme right carries on pretty much as it has for the last 100 years.

They never show up when Know Nothings are in power, they never complain about the Know Nothing Party, and they are always ready for a little mayhem, particularly when a black man is elected President.

Politicians never want to say this clearly, and the media’s much more interested in brewing up more conflict by creating false equivalencies with what’s left of the loony left.

The fear is that one or more of these nuts will have a go at killing President Obama. That’s been the fear since he first started campaigning for President.

The fear doesn’t abate, particularly when Know Nothing Party leaders and their media enablers encourage the extremists to take the law into their own hands.

We can only hope the FBI does a better job at rooting out these domestic terrorists.

We can only hope that the Secret Service will treat right-wing extremism as the clear and present danger it is to the President.

Gorilla says: “Time to challenge the nut jobs before they lose their heads further!”
